The geography of Mongolia is not very complex either. Though it has no beaches or access to the sea but being famed as “The Land of Blue Sky“, the beauty of Mongolia lays in its scenic landscapes. Besides, this title also refers to around 250 sunny days approximately each year in Mongolia. The most border area of Mongolia is adjacent to People’s Republic of China. Towards its East, West and South Mongolia is completely landlocked with China. However, the border of Kazakhstan is only 38 kilometers away from Mongolia. Towards the North is Russia and this also signifies the temperate extremes as temperature falls below -40 degree Celsius in winters.
Despite being a large country Mongolia is not densely populated. As a matter of fact, the most population is in the capital city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. About 38% of the total population in Mongolia is inhabited in the capital. Air access to the country is through the capital city, while connections from / to China are equally popular. Also, from London, various Cheap Flights to Mongolia fly nearly daily and make this destination a perfect fit in all Holiday budgets. Holidays in the East and Central Asia, on an average are much cheaper than traveling to the Far East or Caribbean.
Some of the extra ordinary features of a Mongolian holiday are the vast emptiness in the country that links land and sky. Also Mongolia is one of the last few places on the planet where nomadic life is still a living tradition. The scarcely populated country, with only 1.7 people per square kilometer is known for the lowest population density of any independent country in the world. It is this vast and majestic emptiness that is the country’s enduring appeal, bringing the traveler, as it does, into a close communion with nature and its nomadic inhabitants. In various art forms and paintings the traditions and life style of Mongolia is depicted in the simplest forms. You will see a lot of grass, blue skies, sheep roaming around, care free shepherds in these paintings. It brings a certain, one of its kind, calmness to the soul and also provides excellent opportunity for photography and relaxation. Yet, the terrain is not limited to wilderness, vastness or blue skies as from desert to verdant mountains there is a lot to explore is the country. The Gobi desert is also a very enduring experience.
Summers are usually hot in Mongolia, however other than the desert area, raining every now and then makes the weather pleasant at night.
The history of Mongolia is not very extensive or detailed in certain ways however since being founded or better to say, united by Genghis Khan (Chinggis Khan) there is a lot being written and saved in the history of Mongolia.
The ‘Naadam Festival’ (celebrated on July 11-13) takes place every year in Mongolia when the displays of traditions “three manly sports”: wrestling, horse racing, and archery, are very entertaining and unique experience for European travelers.
