Beginner's Guide to Online Horse Racing

Are you interested in getting in on the fun and excitement of online horse racing? If so, you are certainly not alone. Online horse racing has made it possible for many people to enjoy all of the thrill of horse racing even if they do not live near a race track. If you have never previously placed an online horse racing bet, then you may find yourself wondering exactly how to go about it. Read on for more details on how to get started.

Online horse racing takes place on websites that are specifically dedicated to that purpose. You can get started by setting up an account on the website. Although different sites vary, the process is basically the same. The account that you set up on the site will allow you to make electronic deposits to fund the bets that you will place.

The website will provide important information about upcoming races which you can bet on. If you do not have a lot of previous experience placing bets on horse races then it is a good idea to review this information carefully in advance. Some of the information that will typically be provided on the website includes the horses that will be racing in the upcoming racing, the odds for those horses, the name of the jockeys that will be riding each horse, the distance of the race as well as other information.

Once you have some information regarding the upcoming race, the next step is to determine which horse or horses you would like to bet on. Make sure that you take into consideration the information that is available on the horses when you are determining which horses may present you with the best odds.

Finally, you will need to determine the type of bet that you would like to place. When placing online bets you will find that there are the same types of bets offered with online horse racing as there are with placing bets right on the track. In fact, there are often more types of bets available that can make the process of off track betting even more fun and exciting.

Once you have determined which horse you will bet on and the type of bet that you will place, all that is left is to sit back and wait for the race to take place. You can even enjoy the benefit of watching the race results as they come in online to find out how your horse fared in the race.

Race Fans, The Horse Racing Megasite is Here!

If you are an avid horse racing fan, the Horse Racing Megasite is the ideal website for you. This website provides you all the tools, resources and knowledge that you need in order to maximize your winning chances on the bets you place on the horses that are racing. Betting in horse races is a complicated and intricate matter. The betting systems use a system of odds, in order to determine the amount of winnings a winning bet makes. To master and control these systems, special techniques and methods are used. You can learn these methods if you go to the megasite.
There are two betting channels for horse raises. The oldest and the most basic channel is by making a bet directly on betting stations located within the race track. Tracks located in places that allow gambling are the only tracks that can take bets. During race days, thousands of people flock to the race track in order to watch the races as well as make bets. This has been the betting method in place for years and horse racing enthusiasts had to go to the track in order to make a bet. But with the invention of Off Track Betting systems or OTB, horse race betters no longer need to go to the track to make a bet.
The OTB is designed for people who only like making bets on horse races and don’t really like watching the actual horse race or enjoy the race track experience. An OTB is a place that uses satellite technology to get a live feed from race tracks located all over the country. OTB parlors are located in cities that have no race tracks nearby. People can go to an OTB parlor in order to make bets on horse races from race tracks all over the country.
Both the In Track and the OTB places employ the same betting system wherein winning bets are given a winning amount proportional to the odds of the bet. There are three ways wherein a bet can be placed. One way is by placing a bet to win or making a straight bet. This type of bet will only result to a winning bet if the horse you staked money on actually comes in first. Another way is to bet to place. Betting to place will result to a winning bet when the horse comes in either first or second. The last way of making a bet is a bet to show. This bet becomes a winning bet if the horse comes in either first, second or third. A winning bet to show has a lower amount of winnings than compared to a straight bet.
If you want to learn tips and methods in becoming a successful better, there are available resources such as interesting and informative websites such as Horse Racing Megasite.

Understanding Horse Actions

At rest, a horse puts his weight on one front leg and on one rear leg on the opposite side. If you consider the 4 legs as four corners of a rectangle, the horse stands with his weight on diagonally opposite legs. If you study a still horse for some time, you will see him shifting weight every once in a while from one set of diagonally opposite legs to the other.

That is the way in which he moves, as well. He leads off with a rear leg, followed by the diagonally opposite front leg, then the other rear leg and the other front leg. The various speeds of his forward movement are called gaits.

To understand a horse’s motion and momentum, you only need to realise the idea that each front leg, though independent physically, takes up and continues the motion activated by the diagonally opposite rear leg.

It could be tough to grasp this concept because the average homo sapien never bothers to think rationally about the way 4 footed animals loco mote. Yet it is sensible if you keep at the back of your mind: no 4 footed animal can launch itself by lifting both feet on one side off the ground. It is going to lean over and go crash on to the ground. Try and imagine a horse with a rider astride taking off by lifting both feet on one side!

And some animals, especially the canine and feline species, alternate between both front feet and both back feet only when they are running at high speed. Ever seen a leopard on screen or in real life at full glorious stretch?

So, for most gaits the horse goes through a first rear-opposite front-second rear-opposite front cycle. Clearly, the faster the horse is moving, the speedier the cycle is repeating itself.

Before we are able to proceed past this point it needs to be accepted that each pair of legs have a specific task to perform not just during standing, but also particularly during the movement cycles or gaits.

Apart from their role in sustaining motion, the front legs are used by the horse to switch direction, and the rear legs are the prime mover. They provide the thrust. They’re the more powerful legs, attached to the massive muscular mass of the horse’s lower torso.

Hopefully, that should have given you an idea of the particular mechanism involving his 4 legs that a horse uses to push himself forward. You can call it a four-stroke mechanism if you like. The momentum of each cycle is composed of 3 parts:

1). Creation of momentum, when the first movement is begun with either of the rear legs;

2). Continuance of momentum, when the opposite front leg takes over more to sustain balance and direction than to add power to the forward thrust, followed by the thrust of the other rear leg and the balance and direction of the other front leg;

3). Sustenance of momentum, when the four legs alternate in repeating cycles; the quantity of cycles per unit time determines the speed of forward movement.

You need to appreciate nature’s diversity. Ever tried to go down on all 4s and advance in imitation of a horse? You’ll find your own shortage of coordination funny.

How Natural Horsemanship Trains Horses

When teaching horses, you must remember that the equine species needs repetition and more repetition to learn well. A horse may often need 5 or 50 repetitions of instructions to finally grasp the action, and the point is this: if you are incapable of exercising great patience, you haven’t got any business teaching horses. If you approach your pony the right way, you’ll find that as the training advances, your bonding with your horse swiftly improves, and in turn, that reduces his learning cycles.

Try to stick to those systems that have successfully withstood the test of time. To my mind, pony coaching isn’t a matter that calls for extensive creativity. The strategies that have come down through the ages are the ones that have appeared successfully through years of trial and error, and they have served generations and generations of horsemen very well. You can use innovation to adapt them to your precise circumstances, but don’t tinker with the basics.

You will struggle to find a better approach than natural horsemanship. This method emphasises the need to understand equine psychology and a bit of the history of horsemanship as a prerequisite to pre-eminence in coaching. It is very important to be well capable in these subjects to gain maximum effectiveness.

Some significant features of coaching primarily based on natural horsemanship

* Natural horsemanship eschews force and negative reinforcement while coaching. This strategy believes in the efficacy of easy-handed convincing. It is attested for by famous reporters like Laura Hillenbrand who have specialized in equine matters.

* Each problem related to pony training has a solution. The responsibility lies on the trainer to come up with the ideal solution to every issue that arises. You’ll find that as you pursue your coaching endeavours, you become a much improved human being even as your horse learns more and becomes a better animal for it.

* Keep one thing in mind: if the pony is not responding well, the issue most probably ensues from the coach.

* Keep your consciousness and perspective free of the sort of unhealthy attitudes that surface from ownership pride.

* In the opening stages, don’t spend time on aspects to do with riding your pony. The much more important thing is to bond fully with the pony; this makes him a miles better learner and makes your future coaching a cake walk.

* Horses have herd instincts. Since they’re prey animals, they have also got robust survival instincts. They naturally have a tendency to form herds as a survival mechanism. You must keep this under consideration as you train your pony, because this knowledge will be instrumental in helping you understand horses.

* Horses use body signals extensively as a means of communication with each other. You may gain hugely by watching them closely. Be especially alert to their use of their ears, eyes and body position to convey emotions, alerts and moods.

* The horse’s head position is a good indicator of its mood. If the head is bowed, the pony is feeling submissive; if the head is raised, the horse might be feeling anxious or rebellious.

You need to govern your pony with an iron fist in velvet gloves. NEVER use the fist to strike, though. Once he becomes used to the idea that you are the leader, your pony will enthusiastically follow you. But before things reach that stage, he is perhaps going to try you out. He is going to go against you simply to check if you are resolute of purpose. Once you convince him that you are , he’ll be fine. Just accept the incontrovertible fact that even as you are teaching your horse, you are learning things yourself. Have patience and you’ll soon see the massive benefits of natural horsemanship.

Kerry Packer and Horse Racing

Kerry Packer was, without doubt, the biggest punter in Australian racing history. He started betting on the horses as a boy, and retained his love of punting at the racecourse until the end of his life. Overseas, Kerry Packer loved to play the casino tables, but in Australia the Casinos weren’t big enough to handle his stakes and his biggest punts were reserved for the racetrack.

As Packer’s wealth increased over the years, so did his bets. The Costigan Commission report included the fact that Packer had paid $4 million to a bookie during an 18-month period in 1980-81, and had only received back $1.2 million – a loss of nearly $3 million.

In the late 70’s, “The Big Man”, as he was known in racing circles, would descend on a race course with a number of “gofers” and a larger number of hangers-on, all running around trying to overhear his instructions. When Packer gave the word, the gofers would run to the bookies – trying to place the bets simultaneously, because Packer’s bets were so large that they would immediately make a horse unbackable, as the odds dropped steeply as the bookies attempted to balance their books. Once the bets were on, though, Packer was an oddly unemotional bystander, rarely getting excited over the finishing line.

One of Packer’s most famous betting losses came at the1987 Golden Slipper race at Rosehill. Betting $2 million on his horse Christmas Tree, he saw it come in fourth and that was not the only loss of the day. Bookies apparently held a world record figure of $20 million in their satchels, and Packer’s losses amounted to a staggering $7 million.

Only two weeks later and Packer backed Myocard to beat his own horse Major Drive, this time at Randwick. Unfortunately, the favored Myocard, who had earlier won the Tancred Stakes that year, also came in fourth – and Major Drive won with odds of 7-1. This was just the start of one of Kerry Packer’s largest betting sprees, which is rumored to have been in the order of $55 million. The bets were so large they can be back-calculated from the overall betting figure turnover from AJC. By the last day of the Carnival, Packer was down $28 million to Sydney bookie McHugh. Packer then persuaded McHugh to raise his previous limit from $5 million to $10 million – and proceeded to pick three straight winners. McHugh turned in his bookmaker’s licence a few days later.

Packer’s legendary race betting continued well into the 1990’s. Another famous punt was backing his own horse Mahogany in the 1993 VRC Derby. He also successfully backed Jezabeel in the 1998 Melbourne Cup, and the odds went from 14-1 when he placed his bet, down to 6-1 when the race started a few minutes later – and Jezabeel came through too.

Packer wasn’t at a racetrack to socialize and mix with the cream of horse racing society. It’s even said that he was no particular fan of horse racing itself – the magic of the race was all in the thrill of the punt for him.

Horse Racing Tipster Helps You Understand Everything About Betting

When it comes to horse racing tipster the one thing that you can be sure of is that they manage to help you out with all possible information as to how the betting for horses goes on. There are many people who are into such forms of gambling, even with the years of experience some fail to understand the knack of the game and still linger around in the same spot as they were a few years ago. A lot of people with their smartness, cautious moves and certainly luck have managed to get themselves settled in a business like this and pretty much seem to gain many profits in comparison to the much experienced ones. If you are a newbie and wish to learn more about the form of betting and understand the kind of moves that should be made at the right time, then certainly one should take up the help coming in from such services. Nowadays there has been some negative press being published about such services. However this comes from only those people who have managed to lose out on their patience real soon and those who have got any success post the usage of such services. If you wish to make a wise decision then do overlook such comments. It is definitely true that there are a few services that wouldn’t help you in any way and they certainly need to be ruled out. Hence, choose the apt services and certainly you won’t regret your decision.
You should work on your own independent mindset that will help you seek in free horsing tips that indeed will take you a step ahead in your gaming streak. Certainly the kind of analysis and the information that comes from these services certainly cannot be replaced with anything else. These are mostly the best form of second opinion, though you can ask the experienced lot for advice, but their opinions might be a little biased as no one likes to leak out their secret formula to success. Hence make sure that you understand the true form of horse betting and hang in there for long. Initial success is not meant for all, some make their way up the ladder soon and some go in for short cuts. My suggestion would be, make the use of the tipster services to the maximum. Even if you don’t get complete success, stay in there for a while, certainly with the passing time you would know for yourself as to where you are heading and in what direction.
For amateurs, it is very important to know that an investment made in such services should be of the right price that is decent and not over priced. There are some services that will charge you a heavy sum and considering that you know not much about the figures in the market, you would actually end up paying a heavy sum and if at all it turns out to be a scam then the decision would be indeed regretted. Rather do a little bit of homework before making the right choice, go for the licensed ones that are legally established and hold a reputation in the market.

The Best Horse Racing Handicapping Angles for Winning Bets

There are a lot of ways to win a bet on a horse race.  There are plenty of exotics that we play in the United States and in other parts of the world, such as the UK, there are even more ways to bet on horse races.  I think that the best is still simply to play a horse to win.  I’ve got lots of angles I’ve found over the years.

Some of them have lasted and stood the test of time.  I’ve built systems around those angles.  The thing about most good horse racing systems is that they are built around one situation that keeps occurring over and over again and is over looked by the crowd.  If you think of how you play the horses, you’ll probably find that what you really do is to look for an edge based on a situation or circumstances.

It is probably something that happened and you cashed a ticket on it and thought it was pretty good.  Then it happened again and you thought it was really good, finally happening a third time when you realized it was great.  There are two ways to discover these kinds of spot plays.  One way is to stumble upon them.  Another way is to intuitively discover them.  What I mean is that they seem to come to you.  That is probably because your subconscious mind noticed them while you were handicapping and trying to figure out the races with your rational mind.

It doesn’t matter how you discover angles, just that you do.  A lot of times you will find an angle that is dynamite but seems to be far and few between.  I have written systems that depend on trainer moves, workouts, and the money on the toteboard.  Some people have stuck with it and done well with a little tweaking for their local track and trainers.

Other people have found it worked but just didn’t move fast enough for them.  They wanted more action.  There’s nothing wrong with that and I did finally figure out how to use bullet works and trainer moves to discover a system that finds plays on almost every program.  I can’t say that one is better than the other, and they’re both based on workouts, it’s just that some people prefer one over the other because of the pace of the betting.

So the point is that you can use one horse racing system or the other, it just depends on your own personal taste and personality.  The best horse racing angle is the one that suits you and works at your track.  That’s why I always describe each one as well as I can so horse players can choose the right method.

Best Horse Racing Handicapping System to Find Horses to Bet

If you want to find a good horse racing bet the best place to start is with a top handicapping system.  When I say a handicapping system I mean one that helps you to evaluate the horses and to understand which horse offers the best value.  Finding good value is what profiting from your betting is all about.

The reason it is important to use a systematic method is that we as humans have a tendency to vary from moment to moment and day to day in our judgment.  We have good days and bad days, days when we are sharper intellectually and days when our emotions may be calm and mellow or volatile and troublesome.  The one thing about having guidelines that you use to find a good bet is that they will never vary.

No matter how good a handicapper may be, he or she is human.  The human element, emotions, moods, etc., is the one reason that even a person who is good at picking winners, may still not be able to make a profit gambling.  Ask yourself this one question, “On my best days, am I capable of making a profit from my bets?”

If you answered yes, then the struggle to make a profit from your wagers is simply a matter of being more consistent.  How do you achieve consistency?  You must always do things the same way.  In other words, you must use a system that doesn’t vary.  Of course, no one on the planet is selling a horse racing handicapping method that always picks winners. So some effort on your part is necessary.

Smart handicappers find a few good systems, try them out and learn them well, then adjust them to suit their own needs and individual talents.  But once they get them set, they don’t tinker with them much.  The biggest adjustments are made because of changing trends or track conditions, not because the user’s moods change.

Therefore, the best horse racing handicapping system to find horses to bet is one that you have tried and found suitable to your own tastes and emotional makeup.  I know it sounds a little weird to talk about emotions and horse playing, but the emotional factor is the most likely thing that will put you on tilt and that is when you lose money.  Therefore, find one that will always be the same and that you will not be able to make a mistake with when you’re having a bad day.

The Best Horse Racing Betting Books and Handicapping Systems

People sometimes confuse handicapping books with handicapping systems.  While it is true that the best books on the subject of picking wining horses may teach you the factors and a systematic method, they are not necessarily a system.  Some books on horse racing may be hundreds of pages long and yet they only really teach you one angle.

At first, that may seem ridiculous, but when you take the time to look into the subject, you’ll find that some factors are so complicated, they really do require a whole book.  The reason for that is that there is really no stand-alone handicapping factor.  Each one is related to the others and each one is affected by the others.

For instance, can anyone really consider figuring out the speed of a race without looking at pace?  If you think that you can merely compare speed figures and find a profitable angle, you’re mistaken.  Recreational handicappers and weekend players are sharp enough to read a form and notice a runner with a speed advantage.

But what if that speedy one gets into an early pace battle?  The weekend players may not have handicapped that far, but a horse player who has read the right books will know that the race isn’t always to the horse with the highest speed figures.  The reason a good horse player knows that is because he or she knows that pace makes a difference.

Following that line of thought one step farther, there are good handicapping books that teach bettors how to use the class of the horse to determine how it will handle the speed of the race.  A horse that scores a 80 speed rating in a $10,000 claiming race may come right back and score an 85 or even higher at a lower claiming price.  The reason, of course, is because the cheaper horses may set a slower pace.

That is an example where three factors all work together to determine the winner of the race.  Using a combination of factors and finding good profitable bets is a process that may require lessons on handicapping that are found in several books.  The more of these good horse racing handicapping books you read, the more you will understand how each horse racing factor plays against and with another.

But then again and this is the critical part of this whole learning process, you must also know when enough is enough and stop trying to add new angles to your playing.  Just because you read something written by a top handicapper, it doesn’t mean it always applies to every situation.  You have to figure out which bits of knowledge to use and what to leave out.

People often ask, if that handicapper is so smart, why did he write a book about it?  Why doesn’t he just go to the track and make a fortune?  The truth of the matter is that some handicappers also like to teach and sometimes teaching is easier than doing.  No matter how good you are at picking winners, there are still times when you will lose and it is more profitable in the long run to teach others.

Simple Horse Racing Systems That Produce Easy Winners

If you are like a lot of people who handicap horse races and like to bet on horses, then you probably don’t want to spend your whole day reading the past performances just to find some good winners.  Many people just want an easy horse racing system, a simple system to pick winners.  If you can identify the most likely winner you can always put others with it to complete a trifecta or exacta or even a superfecta.

The problem, of course, is how do you know which horse will win?  Well the bad news is, you never know for sure.  Even if there are only two horses in the race, each one has a fifty-fifty chance of winning if they are evenly matched.  There are, however, ways to quickly determine which runner has the edge.  Just using a few simple factors can show which one has more ability.

That is assuming that there is a difference between them.  Sometimes, the runners really are evenly matched and then it is just a matter of betting the one with the best odds so you make the most money from your bets.  But even a slight difference means that one horse is superior to the other.

I don’t advocate betting on the horse with the most ability alone.  I also tech people to find what I call fair value odds.  But it all starts with the ability of the runners because how can you tell which one has the most ability without looking at a few simple factors and seeing a difference?

An example of a simple horse racing system that produces real winners is the test that we are conducting right now.  I offered people the opportunity to test a simple and easy horse racing system so they could see how it was done.  They paid a small fee to cover my costs of reporting the results of the test and helping to guide them along.

It is an opportunity to see how a real winning horse racing system is developed.  We focused on the speed figures of the runners in the last few days and using a few simple criteria to evaluate them have arrived at a lot of good winners.  Our next step is to look at the winners and to see if they have any other similarities in the other horse racing factors like class, pace, or connections.

We aren’t using a lot of factors, but it is amazing how few factors it really takes to find winners.  Horse racing systems don’t have to be complicated and you don’t have to spend hours poring over programs or software readouts to find real winners.
