Dale Jarrett, the 1999 Sprint Cup champion, was shocked as he was announced among five people selected for the Hall’s 2014 class on Wednesday (May 22, 2013). The three-time Daytona 500 winner will be joined by NASCAR’s first superstar Fireball Roberts, Busch Series star Jack Ingram, engine builder Maurice Petty and two-time champion Tim Flock when the Hall inducts its fifth class on January 29, 2014. Mr. Jarrett was a three-time winner of the Daytona 500 and is 21st on the career list with 32 victories. He retired in 2008 following the 2008 Food City 500. Despite enjoying a successful career, the son of two-time Grand National Champion Ned Jarrett admitted that he had to battle with the depression-like emotions in early retirement. And these emotional struggles also contributed to his divorce from his wife Kelley Jarrett. Dale Jarrett had his first son Jason at the age of 18 after he got married with Kelley. Other children of the couple include son Zachary and daughters, Natalee and Karsyn.

Dale Jarrett began racing at Hickory Motor Speedway in 1977 and then in the #24 Ford for Horace Isenhower in 1982. He retired in 2008. He said the depression-like emotions he battled in early retirement contributed to his divorce from his wife Kelley Jarrett.
Dale Jarrett and his wife Kelley Jarrett have four children after they married. They lived in Hickory until they divorced.
The former NASCAR driver is the son of Grand National Champion Ned Jarrett, younger brother of Glenn Jarrett, father of former driver Jason Jarrett, and cousin of Todd Jarrett.
Dale Jarrett, who joined the ESPN/ABC broadcasting team as an announcer in select Nationwide Series races in 2007, posed with the Daytona 500 trophy during NASCAR testing at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The TV personality posed on the red carpet for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series awards banquet during the final day of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
