These new developments in information technology signify the death of that humble mouse as we can now use our eye movements in controlling the pointer. The infra red sensor has a great role to play here as it will monitor our eye movements and create 3D images which move the pointer in the direction of our eyes on the computer screen. It means saving time and making things quicker and easier.

There are still some queries and questions about the technical aspects and functionality of this technique which will automatically get answered once this technology is available for all. When you type using MS word and look beyond the computer screen or close the eyes, the infrared sensor will automatically tell you about that. Moving your head in this case is not required as the sensor works only with your eye movement and as your eyes move the sensor will follow it. People still wonder how this technique will work for those wearing specs or lenses and those who are one-eyed. Since the technology is still in the development stage and is not released, it is not fair to comment on these issues as the developers are still working on these aspects and many more as they come up.

Though this technology is going to revolutionize the way we use the computer support, there may not be an alternative to the keyboards as it is still known as the best input device used for keying in huge amount of text and information. If the eye sensing technology starts becoming popular and used extensively, the keyboard will start working in conjunction with our eye movements. There is no alternative available yet for many of the functions which require the help of the keyboard like playing games, zooming-in and out of the pages apart from typing text.
