Equine Programme scholars work with the 40 horses at UMC’s stables. Students are given valuable practical exposure by being made to look after the horses and by riding, grooming, training and breeding the numerous breeds represented. Unless they are in coaching or showing classes, students do not receive any special horse by way of assignment. They’re instead made to work with different horses to assist them to experience handling horses of various conformation and temperaments. Each student also receives a laptop with software applicable to their sources of study. These computers have to be used almost every day.
