Justin Bieber was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol on Pine Tree Drive and 26th Street in Miami, Florida early on Thursday morning (January 23, 2014). The 19-year-old pop sensation was stopped at 4 a.m in his rented yellow Lamborghini while racing his friend Khalil Sharief in a palm-tree-lined residential area. The car was speeding at up to 60mph in a 30mph speed limit zone. The Def Jam rapper, who was driving in Justin Bieber’s red Ferrari, was also arrested on a charge of DUI. The “Believe” singer’s father Jeremy Bieber was on the scene with him. Both cars were then pulled over.
Police said that Justin Bieber didn’t cooperate at the time of his arrest. The Canada native resisted arrest, kept putting his hands in his pocket and used some choice words. Justin Bieber also admitted to drinking beer, smoking marijuana and taking prescription drugs. Almost 12 hours after his arrest, Selena Gomez’s ex-boyfriend was released on $2,500 bond, which included $1,000 for his DUI, $1,000 for resisting arrest and $500 for driving without a valid licence. Meanwhile, his BFF Khalil was set at $1,000 for a DUI.
